Channels and Choices Therapeutic Community specialise in working with children who have experienced trauma, most will have an attachment disorder.  We create a secure base for all the children in our care and we focus on achieving the best outcomes for these children.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic people to develop and co-ordinate activities every Saturday and some after school activities for the children who reside in our residential care homes.  The children’s ages range between 6 years – 14 years.  This is brand new and exciting opportunity predominantly based at our wonderful Kearsney Manor Site in East Kent where we have over 7 acres of outdoor space and a large indoor venue, both suitable for running various indoor and outdoor activities.

The post will initially be on a short term 12-month contract with the possibility of becoming a permanent position.  We are offering a very competitive salary of £11.35 per hour with further benefits to include accrued annual leave and the opportunity to further develop the role in the future.

We would welcome applicants who are organised, fun and enthusiastic about providing new and exciting activities for children, ideally someone who has previous experience of working with children in a Youth Club, School or Activity based setting, whether that be in a voluntary or paid position, however other applicants should also apply who feel they have the transferrable skills or personal qualities to carry out the role.

We have a strong commitment to staff development and there will be considerable opportunities for internal and external training and for sharing good practice within the community.
