A letter from our headteacher
Alistair Hammond
Dear Parents/Carers,
I feel extremely privileged and excited to have been appointed as the new Headteacher of The Sallygate School from 1st October 2021 and look forward to getting to know all the pupils and students, staff, parents/ carers and governors on a personal basis over the forthcoming weeks and months.
It has been wonderful to meet the pupils and some of the parents/carers at the entrance on my first day. As I am sure you will have seen from the two most recent inspection reports, the school’s many strengths have been recognised and this is credit to the hardworking and dedicated pupils and staff, and certainly would not be possible without the support from parents/carers, governors and the strong links with The Channels and Choices wider community.
Rest assured that I will continue to strive for the very best outcomes, whether socially, academically, morally, spiritually or emotionally for every single child at The Sallygate School. We are very much an all-inclusive community, where all pupils are valued as unique individuals. As a proud father of two children – 18, and 14 years respectively – I know how a supportive school is essential for the personal development of all its pupils. Open channels of communication are vital for us all to work together to support your child. Please do not hesitate to contact me, or your child’s class teacher, with any concern, however big or small.
We are here to help you and your child feel part of our school and I hope that being part of The Channels and Choices community will be an enjoyable experience for you all.
Yours truly,
