Financial Controller

The post is for a full time permanent Financial Controller, working 37.5 hours per week and is based at our Head Office at Kearsney Manor Kent. We offer a competitive salary range of £70,000 – £90,000 per annum depending on experience. Further benefits include 36 days paid annual leave per year and a loyalty scheme which rewards you with extra annual leave following 2 years of service.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on position where you will be responsible for the full finance function, reporting directly to Company Directors. Leading a small, dedicated team, you will manage day-to-day operations as well as provide strategic financial guidance to support continued growth.

Key Role and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with UK accounting standards
  • Monitor cash flow, manage investments, and work alongside colleagues within all C&C departments to ensure efficient and effective budgets.
  • Lead financial planning to support strategic business initiatives
  • Ensure tax compliance and manage relationships with auditors and external advisors
  • Drive operational efficiencies through sound financial controls and policies
  • Prepare board-level reports and KPIs
  • Provide strategic insight and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Implement and manage asset finance and ERP systems

Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in SME finance leadership within a growth company culture
  • Proven ability to manage the finance function independently
  • Proficiency in financial systems and ERP software
  • Commercially minded, proactive, and confident communicator
  • Essential sector experience required
