Firework Community Event – 3rd November 2017

In November, Channels and Choices organised a Firework Display for all of the young people and adults.

We had a brilliant turnout of 200 people and was a great start to our community events.

There was popcorn, hot dogs, burgers, chips and also a Hog Roast. This was held at Deal Town FC who said that it was one of the best events that they have held there.

The fireworks were provided by AJ Pyrotechnics which received outstanding feedback.

A massive thank you to all that attended and we look forward to next year!

Summer BBQ & Sports Day

After a very rainy weekend we were happy to see the sun was shining for our Summer BBQ and Sports Day at Deal and Betteshanger Rugby Club.

The young people and adults unleashed their competitive sides and took part in many games which included:

  • Egg and Spoon Race
  • Sack Race
  • Throwing Bean Bags
  • Relay Race

There was also a Coconut Shy and a Bouncy Castle which was enjoyed by both the adults and the young people.

We also had a Channels and Choices Bake Off with many entries, the winner overall was the ‘Seaside’ cake which was created by our foster carer Dawn.

A BBQ lunch was served which we give a massive thanks to Brian & Jack for cooking up a storm. After lunch, a game of rounders was played.

Overall an epic day and we would like to thank Sarah and Kerrie for organising this!

Launch of New Young People’s Guide and Treasure Boxes

The fostering team are really excited this week as they launched our new Young People’s Guide.

The new guide has been updated with fun new graphics, versions for older and younger children, information to help our young people as well as including the more recent additions to our team.

Alongside the guide all our children will receive one of our new treasure boxes. These are in a range of styles and are intended as a place for our young people to keep any personal items as well as “treasures” they collect along their journey. The team will be taking these out to the young people in the coming days.
