Welcome to the Sallygate School

Nurturing, small-class learning environments

Values led, trauma-informed school

Welcome to Our School

The Sallygate School is an independent special school specialising in Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We support pupils aged 5 to 16 (KS1–KS4). Through Channels & Choices, we also work with children in foster care and residential settings, as well as those living with their families.

Our Values

Respect

We treat one another with dignity and listen so that every voice is heard. We model fairness and uphold safe, consistent boundaries.

Kindness

We assume positive intent, notice the good and encourage it. We celebrate effort as well as achievement.

Resilience

We help children practise perseverance, self-regulation and problem-solving. Mistakes are part of learning; setbacks are stepping stones.

Tolerance

We value difference and teach curiosity, empathy and inclusion. Everyone has the right to learn and the responsibility to let others learn.

Our Ethos

At Sallygate, every child can achieve, belong, and thrive. With strong relationships, high expectations, and purposeful routines, every child can learn well, feel safe, and grow in confidence.

Belief

We hold unwavering belief in every child's potential. No matter what challenges they face, we see their strengths and possibilities.

Belonging

We create safety and connection so learning can flourish. Every child has a place here and trusted relationships that support growth.

Becoming

We equip pupils with knowledge, skills, and agency for life beyond school. We prepare them to be confident, capable young people.

"It's incredible to see this development. We are so grateful to the school for their amazing commitment, perseverance and care."
